Which monitor is better, crt or lcd for graphics and animation work?

i i work from home and i need a monitor both value for money and good perfomance in long run, i have heard that lcds give a tinted image if viewed from a tilted angle, on the other hand crts are bulky

Answers:
Who told you that about LCDs? LCDs are the better option for clarity, colour and resolution.
Umm. if you have space in your home. get a crt. if not get a lcd and put it into a strait postion.
buy a CRT sony flat with a trinitron tube ;)...
A CRT will reproduce colours and gray scales better and will give a smoother frame to frame movement.

LCDs tend to be bigger screens for less footprint, have no geometry problems and will be sharper for a static image at the native resolution.

TCO'03 certified LCDs should do a better job of colour and gray scale reproduction. Viewing angles are so good these days that, for normal operation, there is no variation of across the screen.

I would not bother trying to get a Trinitron monitor, seeing as Sony has not made any Trinitron monitor tubes for 6 years. Diamondton, the Mitsubishi alternative aperture grille, went out of production 5 years ago.

Sony still makes TV Trinitron tubes, but they look bad next to a good PC monitor.
