when i try to play bf2 the screen goes black after a few steps:1. i put disk in drive2. screen comes up and i click "start bf2"3. its starts to load and another screen comes up saying "battlefield 2"in large letters then screen goes black as if its going to start running and shuts down and goes back to desk top. how can i fix this?

I had this problem as well... i remove the game from my system (That means all folders and everything) and re-installed it fresh.
Was ok after that.
oh my god i have that same problem with BF2142 it used to play but i probably pissed someone off that knew how to use hacks. May EA parish in eternal flame.
Try a reinstalation
