What do I do with a busted LCD monitor?

I have a LCD monitor that only displays black. It is the busto. Any useful/fun suggestion for what I should do with it?

make it into a picture frame
it's cheaper to buy a new one than have it repaired.

So the panel is physically ok, but it is very dim? Does it still display a faint image?

If so, you could go this route and use it to make a projector out of it.
