i remember that! that means the game isn't reading. (not a big deal) is it blinking and the screen is flashing with the title screen on and off? get a Q-Tip or something like it with a cotton end and clean around the female end of the game. Make sure you get all the dust. Don't blow on it though because 1. You don't get all of the surface dust like you do with a q-tip and 2. you might spit all over it and liquid + electronics dont mix.
are you referring to a Nintendo Entertainment System? if yes, that sounds about like what they do when they fail... sounds like its not recognizing the cartridge...
Clean the edge connector in the unit and clean the contacts on the game cartridge.
