How do I get my comp. to not got to sleep?
Answers:
This happened to me and it drove me so crazy I was ready to throw my computer in the trash. I even hit it very hard a few times because I was mad. I asked everybody I knew, including at a computer store, and they all gave me some advice but it didn't work. Finally I figured out for myself what to do, and it worked and my computer has never gone to sleep again.
I'll tell you the advice everyone gave me, and then what I ended up doing that solved it.
If you go to your "Start" button, click on it and go to "Control Panel." Look for the "Power Management" icon, and click on it. If you have XP it might be under "Performance and Maintenance." You should see some options for leaving your hard drive on all the time or setting it to "standby" or sleep modes. You can change these to all say "never," which SHOULD keep your computer from sleeping.
In my case this didn't work. It still went to sleep about three times a day. Finally I figured out a simple solution: If you put a screen saver up, this stops happening. My computer apparently would go to sleep whenever some time had passed where it wasn't doing anything. If you put a screen saver up, the computer thinks it's doing something the whole time the screen saver is on. In my case it hasn't gone to sleep in six months!
If you don't know how to get a screen saver, just click on "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Appearance" (or whatever it would be in your version of Windows).
I hope I helped!
go to active desktop settings and click on screensaver adjust your screen saver to a higer time or you can go to your power settings and change your montior to never off.
