I unplugged and removed the lcd screen from my old laptop and i pluged the computers moniter into my laptop, and when turn it on all i see is a red and black screen

It is because you have removed the LCD. The video chip in the laptop uses feedback from the screen on resolution etc, so since there is no LCD plugged in it shuts down the graphics
because the laptop detects that there is no lcd. return the lcd and connect again the monitor. so your problam will resolved
