Is it true that flat screen computers are better for your eyes?

Sure is. There is almost no emission which can be harmful to your eyes and body overall
I don't know, but it makes sense... Sort of.
I have a flat screen (it's pretty big, too, but that's not really important), and it feels a lot easier on my eyes than the ones I've had in the past.

I'm not sure if it's something that's proven, but it's more of a point of view. I prefer Flat screen monitors because they look nicer in my eyes. CRT Monitors are good to an extent, but aren't as sharp or clean to my eyes. Hope this helps.
LCD, yes, as far as I know.
CRT... No... making the image flat doesn't affect the light/radiation spewing out of the screen.
Although... If you are too close, it doesn't matter what kind of monitor you have... Your eyes will still get damaged.
