CRT Monitor emits odor while it's operating...is this normal?
I currently own a Proview 17" CRT Monitor (Product PS778s), and while this monitor is turned on, the monitor emits an odor, kind of like rubber, or plastic (it smells like 'new electronics', also the AC cord, the packaging, and the box has the same smell). This has happened for 1 week, and I want to know if it is normal, or if I should return this product. If it is normal, how long will this last for?
Thank you,
Stephen

If it's brand new, it should probably go away soon.
However, it shouldn't be a "pungent" odor.
If you've had it a while, it could be dust buildup.
Try using some duster (air blower) canisters in the vents. Could be dust is on the warm parts and emitting a smell.
your ctr can die any time soon cause the burning smell is probably one of your one or more capacitor are giving up by releasing some liquid chemical
no! it means the hi votage is bruning up & may go on fire B very careful & don't try 2 open it up U could get juiced & hurt.
