How do I get my TV to act as a computer monitor?

look on your keyboard at the function keys (F1,2,3, ETC.) the ink is in white. below that on each key is some blue ink. look for one of those keys in blue ink that says "CRT/LCD" or show a picture of a monitor(s). once you've found that look in the lower left hand corner for a blue ink key that says "Fn" for function. press and hold the fn key and the CRT/LCD key at the same time until your lcd goes black and the tv turns on. if you want it on both screens do the same thing again.

Check your TV and make sure it's input is on the VGA hook-up.
Then left click on your desktop, Properties->Settings-> and there should be an option to select the display you would like to use.
You need to switch the inputs on your laptop. It's Function+F4 or one of the F keys that have a picture of a square and bars. That should switch the image to the TV. If this doesn't work, try to connect your laptop to your TV with an S-video cable if you have an S-video out on your laptop. Also your TV has to be on one of the aux or video channels
Right click your desktop > Properties > click on "Settings" tab at the top. In the preview box, there should be a square (your active monitor) with a "1" in the center. To the right of that there should be another box, faded, with a "2" in it.
Click on the box with the "2" then check the tab that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." Ta-da! Your TV should then pick up a signal.
If you want the TV to be your primary monitor, check the box that says "Use this device as my primary monitor."
