Can a computer monitor display 720p or 1080p?

Answers:
I don't see why it couldn't display the equivalent. According to Wikipedia, 1920×1080 is the equivalent of 1080P for a computer monitor.

Turns out that computer monitors can exceed 1080P.

Most PC monitors run at 1280x1024 now, so pretty darn close to the 1080 lines of HD TV . . . . some go higher . . .
They can display it, but most have to interpolate. There are 1920 x 1080 monitors that would be able to display 1080p pixel-for-pixel. The others all have to stretch and adjust. With good monitors, you almost can't tell the difference. 720p can be displayed pixel-for-pixel by almost all current monitors, as long as they're at least 1280 wide...which probably excludes only 15-inch LCD panels.
