I changed the monitor on my PC and appear to have lost the D drive. How can I reconnect it?

Answers:
Just changing the monitor should not have affected the D drive!

Are you using Windows XP? If so the D drive is usually for the CD/DVD. There may be a fault with the drive.

First thing to try is System Restore. Go to Start > Help & Support. When the Help screen displays, type 'System Restore' in the search box. When the calendar appears, select a date when you know (or hope!) the D drive was ok. The computer will automatically restart with the settings applicable to the chosen date. Hopefully, you might then be able to find the D drive.

If not, consult a professional repair person!
I've no idea why this would have happened!

More info please - was the D drive an external hard drive, DVD/CD drive, internal hard drive, or what?

Edit: If it was an internal drive (CD, hard disk, whatever), you may have dislodged a cable by knocking your PC around when you changed the monitor. It's unlikely, but the only thing I can think of. You can either open your case and try to fix it yourself (I'd recommend this only if you know what you're doing), or ask a pro or a computer-whizz friend to check it for you.
Turn off the computer.
Restart it and put a movie DVD in the drive.
It should startup on its own.
