New monitor choice??
Answers:
Monitor doesn't have to match the computer manufacturer. LCD is recommended, more space on the desk, better power consumption. CRT's are barely sold nowadays.
Just make sure you get the ports right. I'm guessing that you have analog (VGA). make sure the monitor you choose has an analog cable.
CRT
LCD is better than CRT
most all is going lcd now, its just better and takes less space..all monitors will work on any computer doesn't have to be from the same manufacturer
Depends on what you are using it for. If you are a gamer or a graphic artist then a CRT still can't be beat. You can however use an LCD for gaming and graphics, but make sure it has a low refresh rate. Like 2 ms (milliseconds) . I have found that Viewsonic makes some of the best monitors all around. I guarantee you won't have any problems. I still use a Viewsonic that is over 6 years old and has had many games run on it. It is still running strong and has yet to pop. Usually a CRT with this much run on it would have popped by now. Also remember that ghosting occurs on LCD monitors, thats why gamers and artists still use CRT's. They have the best imaging still. Blacks are black and whites are white.
