ViewSonic VX2835wm 28” multimedia LCD display?

i was wondering if i can use this lcd tv as a tv by pluging in a hd set top box through its hdmi or component inputs. would i need a computer for this to work or can i just watch tv with the set top box and connect my xbox to it?

its cheaper than a tv in this + its 1920x1200 resolutuion. 1000 aud cheaper than a tv of that size.

also, what a viewsonic lcds like?

Hiya John,

YES to the HDMI output from the set top box to the HDMI input on the monitor. Although the VX2835w does not have a tuner, the set top should produce digital quality images with no problem.

MAYBE to the XBOX whid will depend on the ouput type available on the XBOX. If HDMI, then you would just switch cables, if RGB then it would work through the set top but only if the set top box has the inputs and input selection via a menu. If not then you can use a VGA box for the XBOX which are readily available. Check out the xbox-scene website for additional information:

As far as the quality of Viewsonic, I have to give them a thumbs up for price and quality. I am viewing this through 2 VX series LCD wall mounted and recommend them.
