Why is monitor changing colours?i mean its getting a sort of shadow`d colour on the sides...?

Answers:
Is there a magnet or a subwoofer near the monitor? Both of these could cause distortion in the color of the screen. Just moving either away and then turning off the monitor for a few minutes should restore it, but there may still be traces of it- it all depends on how long it was there.
If you have non-pc approved speakers near or right next to the monitor, they will distort the monitor due to the magnets in them. Keep any type of magnets away from your computer and monitor.

If you do not have anything next to the monitor that might be causing it, try degaussing the monitor if your monitor is a tube monitor (CRT). Some monitors have a button for that, and other monitors have an option on the screen to chose Degauss.
Your monitor ( I assume a CRT ), might have a magnetic field source nearby: speaker, microwave oven, radio, etc. Keep these items clear by at least 6 inches and the problem should clear up.

If it doesn't clear up, you might try degaussing the monitor. Press the menu button and look for this feature.
