What is the best way to dispose of a computer printer and monitor?

I know that you can take them to a recycle (trash) company, but is there a place to donate them if they are not in working order?

Answers:
Find someone who wants a free computer by advertising it on someplace like Craigslist. You can also donate a nonworking pc to a public school with a technology program.
They can treat it as an exercise in hands on tech.

You can also try these sites for recycling:

If you buy a Dell, they'll help recycle your pc:

HP has a program as well:

Check your phonebook for a computer recycler. Otherwise Good Will or Salvation Army will likely take it.
There are several agencies that take in old computer equipment, but be sure to get your stuff off of them first. Look on line for computer donation agencies in your local area. I am only aware of a few in the Chicago area.
A not working printer and a not working monitor are worth nothing... maybe a repair shop will take them off your hands for parts but a specialist computer recycler is your next best option.

Otherwise if you live in the EU the makers will have to take them back for recycling when the WEEE directive comes into force.
