Can you use an hdtv as a computer monitor, how?

I'm going to buy an LCD HDTV. Can I use this with my computer? Are there special hook-up procedures or equipment?

Answers:
Yes there is a special cord that connects from the laptop to the hdtv. You have to use the function key to project the image to the screen.
DVI-I connector on the HDTV.
Easy-peasy - just run the external monitor cable to the TV.
Just make sure the TV has an DVI input (this is assuming your video card has DVI not just VGA output).
We have a 50in rear projector screen which has a 'PC input' built in we just unplug cable from monitor intoTV and great for watching downloaded movies!
