I have a viewsonic 20" vg2021m computer monitor and i want to know if i can connect HD digital cable to it

i have a viewsonic vg2021m computer monitor
and it is 20 inches
it also has a dvi-d port with it
and i have a dvi-d wire
i was wondering if i have a digital cable receiver which is high definition
if i connect the dvi-d to the back of the receiver and the other end to the monitor
will i be able to view those HD channels on my monitor from the digital cable receiver
and will i be able to view them in HD

Answers:
Yes, but I did not see anything on the specs about a HDCP compatibility so such content would only be delivered at low settings (DVD quality).

You monitor has: 15-pin mini D-sub/DVI-D
VGA from the computer and HDMI to DVI adapter from the digital cable receiver. HDMI is simply DVI with audio in the same cord.

DVI-D delivers digital HD content, but you may want to consider ensuring that your next monitor to be HDCP compliant.
