Can i hook up a dvd player to an lcd monitor?

Answers:
It depends.

If the DVD player has a VGA output, definitely. But few DVD players do.

If the monitor has component or S-Video input then those are pretty standard outputs. Some also have component video which will give a better picture.

If the player has DVI output and the monitor has DVI input then that will work. If the player has HDMI output and the monitor has DVI input it might work, but you will need to get a HDMI to DVI-D cable.
No. Monitor's were meant to be driven by video cards, not the Audio / Video receptors on regular dvd players.
