I have a padlock appearing on my monitor that locks & unlocks. How do I make it fo away?

It's in the foreground, my cursors stays behind it, so it's not anything I can click on. It's in the middle of my screen & very annoying. When I restart my computer it goes away for a while. This just started yesterday.

I'm not sure what you have there but I would certainly advise you to scan your PC for SpyWare & Virus'. I think you have downloaded some malicious software. If it isn't malicious software, when the padlock is active, press Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time. In the "Applications" Tab, look at which programs are open and you should be able to identify the culprit. Otherside, check in the "Processes" Tab. Once the software has been identified, go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel" then "Add or Remove Programs". Find the program and remove it.
