I need a guide/help to get a new printer... Which should I get?

I baisically want a good quality printer that has wireless communication with my laptop, a built-in-scanner, and a screen with a jack that you can put a memory card and print the photos directly(w/o the need of a pc). And i need It to be less expensive.

Wireless.. You can get a wireless anyport and network server to use any printer for that purpose, but I wouldn't; since that adds a layer of complexity that is not 100% reliable. That means trouble.

You can find some printers that use the optical wireless solution, but I wouldn't for two reasons. The best printers don't have it. Many new laptops simply don't bother with the optical interface anymore. USB is the preferred connection solution.

If you want good color (inkjet), low cost printer cartridges, reliable paper feed and all around great quality, the GO WITH CANON. You see, HP used to be number one, but they have not kept up their quality; but still enjoy a higher price.

If you want good black and white laser, low cost printer cartridges, high speed printing, reliable paper feed and all around great quality, then I would go with Brother. You see, HP used to be number one, but they have not kept up their quality; but still enjoy a higher price.

You see, laser printing costs much less than inkjet. A $120 inkjet printer will cost between 7 and 12 cents per sheet to print; where a laser will cost less than a penny per sheet. If you don't do a great deal of printing, the inkjet will DRY anyway, where laser does not. Let me explain the math.

Full set of inkjet cartridges: $60
number of inkjet pages printed on a set: 500
Cost to print each: 12 cents each

Laser toner module: $95
number of laser pages printed on module: 2500
Cost to print each: under 4 cents each

But yes, one of the models of Canon does have a terrific photo printing capability, with memory card, and photo viewer. Look at one of their All-in-one models at Staples or other good retail store.
