Printer profiles are similar to mobile phone profiles.
On a mobile you can create / edit a profile selecting ring volume, Ring tone, Message alert, etc.
Printer profiles are similar in that you can create a profile and set your print settings (Print resolution, Paper type, Source tray, Output bin, etc).
Then save the profile and simply load the settings by selecting the profile, instead of having to go through the process of changing these settings each time you wish to print (You could have one profile for text documents another for spreadsheets, photos, etc).
