How do I get my printer spooler to work (whatever that is?)?
Answers:
You can check to see if the Print spooler service is running on your P.C by doing the following (Windows X.P guide, Pretty much the same for other versions of Windows besides 95).
* Click on the start button.
* Select Administrative tools from the programs menu.
* Select Services.
You should now be able to see a dialogue box with a list of services that are installed / running on your system.
*Scroll down till you see the "Print spooler" service.
* Scroll across and check its status.
You will notice what looks similar to a media player control at the top left of the window. This control enables you to stop and restart any highlighted service (This is helpful when the print queue is not responding. As you can restart the service without rebooting your P.C)
Note: You can also change the start up settings for the spooler service (Set it to automatic if you want Windows to load this service at start up, If is isn't already ).
I hope this has helped ;)
The print "spool" is the area where the file is sent to so the printer knows what it is printing, sortof like RAM on a computer, or a "temp" file in your browser.
