Where can I possibly ask for free secondhand but still working computers and laptops?
What is horrible is the fact that public elementary/highschool, even here in the capital region, have few computers for their massive student populace. If a public school has a ratio of 1 computer for every 40 students, they can already be considered lucky because majority of the schools have worst ratio or have no computers for their students.
My wife is taking up a graduate studies in one of the old state univerities in Manila City. Last year, she learned from one of the instructors there that for their college they only had 1 P3 PC for their computer graphics subjects. Last week she learned that an organization donated 4 2nd hand P4.
I want to solicit 2nd hand PCs and laptops to be donated to our schools.

Businesses upgrade computers frequently. Often the old ones sit in some warehouse until they're so outmoded nobody wants them, at which time they're destroyed.
Start a letter-writing campaign to every large business in the area, explaining the need for their used computers, their drives wiped clean of all business information. Be specific about how many computers you hope to get and about the age and condition of the ones in use you'd hope to replace.
At least twice a year, write the companies again, reminding them that your need hasn't disappeared.
It's entirely possible that some company will remember the letters they're received when they next upgrade their equipment.

I have purchased and gave away over 200 PC in recent years to high school kids. My community has a none profit agency that refurbishes and give away computers to schools like your's.
check with your local or state government . Also large businesses use Non Profits to desposie of their computers.
Here is who I use.

I would only donate a computer to a school personally.
So many scammers just looking to make a buck from the unexpecting with a good story.

contact computer stores and repair shops, prepare figures and a speech/presentation and how it will benefit both the schools and the donator (maybe they get advertising or recognition) and hopefully they will be able to help.
Good luck!
