Got a really bad problem installing my printer.?
i intalled the disk, then when i put the printer in... it said found new hardware :S
then a windoe appears saying source of program or something, and on a dropdown meanu it says windows: something or D:
none of them worked so i clicked browse but i couldn't find anything
so then i cancelled it and it said problem occured while installing
i tried printing something and it said problem communicating with the printer
i'm well confused...help?

. Make sure you go to the 'Control Panel' and remove any old Lexmark hardware program. Then turn OFF the computer. Then make sure you read the Instructions.
Sometimes you have to run the disk BEFORE plugging in the printer, sometimes AFTER, I forget which.
Anyway, plug the printer in [probably a parallel port?] and the a/c power and try again. Sometimes the computer wil try to install its own version of the driver program, but try to use the CD.
Lexmark has been making these things for 10-20 yrs so it should work. .Try to understand the installation instructions real good.
Try installing it from the disk again. When the window pops up, just let it install into the directory it says, and you should be able to click a button that says Next (or something to the same effect. ) It should complete it's installation after that.
