Take a look at the HP C4280 at HP.com. It's also available in retail stores. It's the smallest one I've seen that's decent.
Brothers make a lot of small MFC, as does HP
I have one about the size of a mild crate
brother MFC's are cheap but have been known after 2 months for printhead errors.
error 41 to be exact. Go laser MFC7220. Sold tons of them
