hi i have a laptop and i have a wireless internet connection the wireless modem it hooked up to my desktop with a wire the desktop has a printer how do i wireless prith form my laptop to my desktops printer? thank you

I am assuming the printer is connected to your desktop directly with either a /USB cable or parallel cable. In this situation you will have to set your Desktop up to share the printer. if your laptop and Desktop can 'see' each other across the network then you will then be able to connect to the printer while the desktop is on.
