Can a computer kept in your bedroom cause health problems?
I've heard of that before...and was wondering about it
Answers:
If you can avoid it, I wouldn't keep all those electronics in your bedroom. Especially the computer. When I used to have a TV in my room I made sure it was at least 6 feet away from my bed. When I found out about electromagnetic fields causing brain tumors I also got rid of my electric alarm clock, which was next to my bed and therefore close to my head. I replaced it with a battery operated one. Oh, when the microwave is running I stay away from that too for the same reasons. Studies have found that people who live under high-tension wires have higher incidences of brain tumors than those who don't. The culprit - electromagnetic waves.
Hi!
Well, lots op people wonder. If properly shielded or grounded then you have nothing to worry about. This also applies to any electronic or electric device. This is because electricity causes electromagnetic fields (basic physics). Only devices with high power are somewhat dangerous (1000W+), such as high power radio devices.
Good luck!
NO it is nonsense. They do not give of radiation (as is the common myth)
The wattage of all those devices is also nominal, not even nearly enough to create an overly destructive electromagnetic field.
There has been a lot of talk about laser printers and health risk, do you have a laser printer?
Even if you do, the health risk is nominal. Comparable to sleeping with you windows open in the city.
