The first page of every text document I print (from PDF files, Microsoft Word, Firefox or IE browsers, it doesn't matter) have vertical bars along the right hand margin. The height of the bar is the height of the tallest character on the line, a line of '------' will have a short bar on the side also. They look like the change bars you use to show someone else what lines have changed in a document.
This is a newly installed HP LaserJet 1018 running on Windows XP with the latest drivers from HP. The bars do not appear when I print graphics, only text documents. I can't seem to formulate a search on Google to get the answer to this problem. Everything else about the printer works beautifully - these lines are driving me nuts!!
