HP PSC 1500 All-In-One printer question.?

I just printed a photo from this printer using Kodak's Ultra Premium Photo paper with normal ink and it looks really bad. Would buying the photo ink make it any better or do I have to fix my print settings? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Answers:
Read the manual and get the ink that they recommend. Or a special type of paper also check the settings..
That printer has a 3 type of ink cartridges.they are Black ink cartridge ,Tri-color ink cartridge the Photo ink cartridge..If you are going to print a photo..Set your printing settings to "Best" so your print will be in a good quality
Did you remember to select the correct paper in your preferences?

File>Print>Preferences>Paper Type

Select the type of paper that's closest to whatever you are using. You obviously won't have the option of every paper manufacturer, just pick one that's close.

If you leave it set to plain paper, your black cartridge will be used in some areas of your photo. The ink in your #92 black is not meant to be used on coated papers. By selecting the correct paper type, your printer will adjust the way it fires for photo paper.

The benefits of a #99 photo cartridge are minimal. Provided there is ample ink in your regular cartridges, and you have the paper setting correct, you will be very pleased with the output.
