What is problem with olivetti any way simple if not recognising new ink cartridge.?
Answers:
You can get this problem with Epson printers too.
Remove the cartridges. turn the printer off, then on again, insert cartridges (the colour one will NEED to be replaced at the same time - don't fit the empty one).
This will reset the internal counters regarding how much ink the printer has.
If this doesn't work, then get a better printer (Canon's iP4300 is good AND cheap).

grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Try replacing the colour cartridge as well if that is empty. Presumably the black cartridge is olivetti compatible? Take out the cartridge again and make sure there's no fluff or dirt on the contacts, then replace.
If that does not work try the Printer troubleshooter.Go to Start > Help and Support. When the Help page displays, type 'Troubleshoot Printer' in the search box and follow though all the questions.
Final last ditch thing to try is System restore. Again, in Help, type 'System restore'. Select a previous date on the calendar when you know (or hope!)_the printer was ok. Eventually, the computer restarts to restore settings to a previous date.
Hope this helps you to fix it!
