Which brand of printer is best?

We are thinking of buying a multi - task printer. But don't know which one is most cost efficient? Like the ink that does not cost an arm and a leg to replace.
Canon, Lexmark, or Brothers?

Answers:
Do not buy INK JETs.
They are cheaper at the time of purchasing the equipment but very costly and never long lasting.

Also I always recommend to buy printer and scanner separately. As our usage is at least 10 times more than the scanner. Therefore the wear and tear of printer portion is 10 times more than the scanner. So when the printer portion will be reach its end (non-repairable) state the scanner would be in perfectly good shape.

Buy Xerox make Laser printer (the inventor of the technology) and Canon make Scanner.

For those who have suggested DELL printer, I would like to inform them that DELL never makes printer they sale LExmark make printers in their name.
HP is best for home, and Lexmark make a pretty nice printer too. I steer clear of Brother, Canon, and a couple others because I found them to breakdown reguarly.

Lexmark is great for long term print quality, because the printing head is replaced every time u replace the cartridge.
Xerox and Canon both have some insanely nice enterprise products... their home systems are middle of the road... Brother makes a good, highly reliable multi-function... but you can't use a refill kit on it due to a proprietary enzyme...

Meh... Stick with HP... it's cheap, durable, and you know what to expect... unless you need something high-end.
Dell for sure. :D

hp photosmart is best anywhere... you can print out photos, fax, scan, and print on it..
I really prefer Lexmark, but the only thing I don't like about them is the color cartridges. All of the colors come in one cartridge, so if you use more of one color than another, it's almost a waste. But, it is cheaper than paying for 4 different colored cartridges like you would with a Brother.

Brother does not impress me at all. I worked at an office once, and they had a Brother multifunction machine. I was so disgusted with the print quality, I brought in an extra printer I had from home (Lexmark of course) and my boss loved it.
Canon.

Lexmark ha cheaper ink, however the print head breaks down prematurely so you will be replacing the printer in about a year.

Lexmark has notoriously high priced low capacity ink cartridges.
Samsung
I have had a Brother MFC 3360C for two years and it has never given trouble,It uses seperate ink cartridges for each colour so you don't have to replace a cartridge for just one colour and I find the print quality is excellent.
Print.Copy.Scan Fax all in one.
