HP Laser Jet 3055 All within One
I have the Lexmark X3470 and I really close to it...
Canon. check out models mp470, mp600, and mp960. theyre all great printers and will please you for years to come. i one-sidedly own the mp 960 and i swear no other multi-functional printer can get better than this one.
I use an Epson DX5000,pretty cheap and does most things
lexmark are cheap but their ink is frighteningly expensive and they drink the stuff.
30 pages of file and diagrams = 2/3 of a colour cart at lb18.
My different one is Brother... has a sheetfeeder built surrounded by for scanning or copying, wifi connectivity and fully clad price + ink carts are 1/3 the cost of lexmark.
But they are adjectives cheap far-eastern mass produced plastic junk, so none of them will end for ever.
I have have a Lexmark, and while I loved it, it could sometimes be a pain surrounded by the rear! I have a hard time getting it to interface next to my computer, even the computer specialist had a unyielding time, so I know it wasn't me. Then I had a Canon, that I like ok (still have it), but the print skipper gave me lots of problems, even after I bought a clean one. Now I primarily use an HP and I haven't had any problem beside it yet. I use it for everything but faxing. The color is dutiful, the speed is acceptable, and the really suitable thing in the order of it is that it has a flatbed copier. So I can copy out of a book if I want to. Price wise they be all comparable. You can grasp a decent all-in-one for around $250-$350. Good luck.
HP Officejet 6310 All-in-one is a flawless one for the price.
It depends on what you want to do with the printer. I know that HP is a really perfect brand for printing papers and a good price for college students since tons of us are really broke. As for photos, laser printers are good. I am currently using HP Photosmart C4180 All-In-One. I really love this one because it is simply the perfect printer for me.
Make sure you know how various pages the printer prints out for respectively minute (I think that would be the ppm). Some printers print 20 page per minute while other printers print out 4 pages per minute, etc. People usually aim for the better ppm. I had a printer which printed out 5ppm for the best level. That was not a nice printer for me. I did not enjoy the patience to skulk for 2 minutes to print out a 10-page paper.
Also, look at what kind of ink the printers use. Some inks can print out an average of 100 pages while other inks print out an average of 500 page. Sometimes printers really rip you off because they are cheap or even free when you go and get the printer but the inks are super expensive. I got a free printer from a company when I bought a laptop from them. That be a good piece, but the replacement for the inks were super expensive!
As for scanner, I don't know much of it, but I know flatbed scanners are really well-mannered because you might want to scan books or multiple photos at once.
After working at an electronics store, I would say that HP is by far most cost effectual. I would recomend the HP 7310 or 7410. If you are wanting to also print photos I would recomend the C6180.
