How to add a printer?

Ok, so i borrowed my aunt's printer, HP psc 2210 all in one. I used to have a printer like this but it broke and my dad instaled in not me. Nobody knows how to make it work. It does all the copying stuff perfectly. Just how can i print from my computer and have it print?

HP printer are automatically installs upon opening the computer. This will works if you had a driver on your hard disk or the Installer driver of HP printer is in your CDrom drive. All you need to do is to direct it to the driver save on your desktop. Or when the Installer driver is in your drive this will all automatically installs. Ask your aunt of the driver CD, or you could surf the internet to HP printer manufacturer and go to support. Search for your driver and specify your OS platform used maybe your using windows xp. Product model and then they will let you download the .exe file for your driver. Then double click the .exe. file and follow the dialogue box.

you'll need the printer driver. If you don't have the software that came with the printer then you have to go to the website of the company that made it. Here's yours if you have WinXP

go there and DL and run that. It will install the driver.

You are right Goodwin. After you have the right driver for your printer, you can use Add a Printer(Printer wizard) in Printer and Faxes that contains in Control Panel. Then the wizard will automatically detect and in stall the Plug and Play printer(if you connect your printer by using USB cable).
If not , you have to choose proper port for the printer(usually LTP port), then you have to provide HP PSC 2210 driver for the wizard. And just following the wizard for the rest.
all answers that mention are correct but it is necessary for u that checking which port of you r computer is available Parallel or USB please go to the configuration port ((right click on the name of your printer in the printers and faxes then open the ports )) and check it which one is available sometimes after driver installation if the printer does not connect to the PC then driver set it automatically and usually there is a different between them i mean you use the USB port but the default of the port is a Parallel.
