What's an economical B&W printer?
Please tell me what a good economical printer is - one that has low priced generic black ink. Some printers seem cheap to buy but expensive for ink. I found a good source for cheap ink, I just don't know which brand printer to get. I've heard that Lexmark & HP are expensive for ink. Thank you!

Actually, you should look into a B&W laser printer. Laser printers use a toner instead of ink. The toner will last you much longer than ink and will save you plenty of cash. I personally prefer HP printers.
HP has a personal laser printer for $130 before a rebate and the toner for $70. By comparison, they have inkjet printers as low as $40 and cartridges from $15 to $30.
Each ink cartridge will last you 190 pages while the toner will last you 2000 pages. So you have a higher initial cost but a much lower ongoing cost.
Having said that, you can make your existing Epson printer use only black ink. To do that, go your control panel and then printers. Right click on your printer and select printing preferences. Somewhere in there (usually under a color tab), you should see an option to print only in B&W. Click OK and that will be your default.
Alternatively, if you don't want to set B&W as your default, click on properties when the printer selection comes up when printing the labels. Look for the color tab and set it to B&W.
