Could recharging the cartridge do any harm?
Answers:
There can be some health risks if you manage to get toner particles airborne, they're a known carcinogen.
You need to ensure that the toner refill kit you're looking at is equal to the OEM specifications or you risk damaging the drum, rollers, etc.
Do yourself a favor, visit a reputable vendor and buy a factory remanufactured or compatible toner cartridge that comes with a guarantee.
You'll still save a lot of money and you'll know it won't damage your printer.
BTW, you can save a lot more in the long run if you use the Q5949X versus the Q5949A toner cartridge.
See if they're available at Inkjet Oasis.
if you refill with care, it should do no harm. be careful though, if you smear ink on the circuit, it will be spoiled. also take care not to touch the circuit.if the cartridge atarts leaking while printing, it could damage the electronic parts of the printer. if you don't want to spend money on cartridge, you have to take the risk of refilling it yourself. else you have to spend on the cartridge.
It depends on how you are refilling the ink. there are remanufactured cartridges or ink refill kits available now a days which can be used and that saves a lot of money. But I will advice not to refill the ink yourself.( I tried once using a syringe..screwed my machine). I use remanufactured toners. they works fine and unless you are trying to print photos , you should not notice the difference. check this link for a better deal in printer cartridges.
