How can i connect dot matrix printer to a laptop. usb to parallel cable failed even i installed it correctly?

go to add printer
select the manufaturer manually
select the printer model maually
intall the printer driver first.
now you connect your printer through proper cable.
restart yourcomputer
now your printer will work.
check the cable weather it is working properly or not might be some times cable problem OK
or go to cmos setting and change the lpt port setting to ecp ecp+spp or eep try changing this setting this will work.
