I have an HP Deskjet 3930. Last week it said the black cartridge was out of ink and didn't print (even though it was previously printing okay and was relatively new). I put in a new cartridge and it printed without problems but now it says it is out of black ink and doesn't print

in hp printers u have to allingment the printer cartridge when u install new ink. try doing that. and also do clean ink cartridge head.
Did you take the tape off the bottom of the cartrage? If you did just take it out and shake it some, this will get ink to go to the inkjets.
try resetting the ink counter. it must be found on printer properties and maintainance.
How did I know you had an HP printer.
Make sure your catridges are installed properly first and make absolutely positive you have the correct catridge
Try cleaning the printer nozzles.This can be done from the toolbox.
Are you printing too much? :)
check if your new cartridge seats properly.
