Can I use the HP900 ink cartridges in the HP Deskjet F380?

I read that the ink cartridges 21 & 22 used by the F380 is compatible to the HP900, but I was informed that it is not always automatic the other way around. So, has anyone tried using the HP900 ink cartridges on the F380 without damaging the printer?

no, the cartridges are completely different sizes and shapes. they will not fit let alone recognize. You will not find a printer on the market today that takes the same cartridges as an HP900.
Your best bet is to look in the manual for the F380 first and see what cartridges work. If you try it and it doesn't work, you'll have a little mess to clean up at worst. Most likey though, they will not work.

HP Deskjet 900 series printer will use different cartridges 45 and 78 cartridges where as Deskjet F300 All-in-One series
All-in-One model will use Black cartridge Color cartridge Photo cartridge
HP Deskjet F310, F325, F335, F340, F350, F370, F378, F380, F385, F388, F390, F394

Black cartridge HP 21* Color cartridge HP 22*

The HP 900 takes the 51626a cartridge.The HP Deskjet F380 take the back #21 and color #22 cartridges.Unfortunately they are completely different cartridges.It is not recommended that you try the HP 900 cartridges in the HP Deskjet F380.It would most likely damage your machine.Good Luck
