Scanned file?

i scan my notes into jpg file and then turn into pdf file. However i cant use the 'find' funciton to search for some key words. What should i do?

Answers:
JPG's are image files, not text documents, so it's like trying to search a photograph for a word.

Try scanning your notes using either Text Recognition mode or (if you have it) Hand Writing mode. This will create a proper text file which can be searched, either in PDF or a word processor.

The response from jackbassv is absolutely correct. You need to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software and scan your notes as text.

You can get a free programme called SimpleOCR from the link below. I've never used it so I can't comment on it's usefulness. (Scroll down the page a little. You'll see it listed on the left hand side.)

Alternatively, there are several commercial ones available. (I use ABBYY FineReader.)
