My Virus scanner just said I had a Trojan Virus in my "temporary files' and i looked for the file but it can't be found and it said that they tried to move it but it failed. I used VirusScan and right now, I don't think it's very good. is a trojan virus very dangerous? does anyone know where there's an ONLINE FREE virus scanner? thank you so much!

1. reboot your computer in safe mode. Then run your virsus scanner. it should be able to remove the trojan from there.
2. trojan's are bad, because they use open holes in your OS to allow malcious software to run.
3. trendmicro has a service called housecall. It will scan your computer, remove all trojan's, and tell you which holes you need to patch on your OS
Depending upon your level of skill you may be able to make a recovery disc. When I don't feel like formatting to remove a virus I like to make a BartPE disc with recovery tools. There are many fine tutorials available on adding your antivirus/antispyware utilities.
AVG Free Edition is a great free anti virus program you can use. Be sure you update it regularly. Go to www.grisoft.com anf type in AVG Free in the search box. Good luck.
Quick and easy temp files are for internet open your internet conection eg ie

Spybot and AVG. (Free version will work, but it's *strongly advised* that you get the full version!) They'll get rid of that nasty Trojan.
Go to Microsft's security website and click on their "Protection" icon by running security scan. It's a 2-3 virus check, but it will remove anything more nasty, plus, it'll patch any holes in your OS.
Afterwards, run a sweep scan of your computer to remove all the cookies and fix any registry problems. This is a 4-minute job.
You can also defrag if you want to.
Attention basic and dense computer users. The best way to keep your computer in a working order.
1. Find a good software firewall. Or buy a software firewall if you can for to buy one. Or you can buy and hardware firewall. However the best way to protect your computer should have a software firewall and a hard firewall. Reason I said get a hardware wall. Because a virus or a spyware can disble it or remove the firewall program.
2. Find at least one good antivirus (more then one is better. Reason is one virus can trick one antivirus but more antivirus you have the less check that a virus bypass a scanner.) I would not waste a money on a commerical antivirus because that most hack act them and free one can do a better job then pay version of one.
3. Fine at least one good antispyware program refer back to 2. because it same thing but you could buy antispyware program too.
4. Update your software when they come out as soon as possible. Reguardless how lazy or busy you are.
5. Do a weekly full scan.
6. If they detect something delete it reguardless it safer then anything else.
7. Also if you got an bad virus or spyware go in safemode and track it down and delete it.
8. Make sure you got a file someone you trust. Normal people dont rename their pictures.
