you said your screen goes off when your on it, If you mean your Monitor shuts off, then there may be an issue with your monitor not a Virus, but if thats not the case, then i think the best one is AVG FREE Anti-Virus, i would only run one Anti-virus, having more then one can cause conflicts and also slow your system down.

when using virus scans, dont just use one program. use three. use avg free edition, avast, and spybot search and destroy. tune up utilities 2007 is really good too for keeping your comp in great, fast condition. they are all free at download.com
