try Mc Afee online scanner. or use AVG antivirus for free

Trend Micro is the best protection
AVG 7.5 Internet Security Suite. With the paid subscription you get free technical support. Norton can't say that.
All of them are good however remember to run them in safe mode. This keeps any viruses from hiding in running applications as the only thing that gets loaded is the windows drivers.

Paid software:
1) NOD32 - (not really user-friendly)
2)Kaspersky (not as good as NOD32)
Norton 2007 is slow and McAfee VirusScan Plus is plain crappy.
Free:
1) Avast
2) AVG
Free stuff is not quite as good as paid for stuff
