Norton Scan isnt working?

I would first do a Norton-Quickscan (double-click norton icon, goto Norton AntiVirus, and go to scans, double-click QuickScan). This way you can see if it is just the big scan malfunctioning for a little while, a virus attacking norton(unlikely), or, if the quickscan doesnt work, all of norton, in which case i would contact the company that makes norton.
norton is rubbish...ditch it and download free AVG
I'm having the same problem with Norton....It wasn't that way until about a month ago.....I don't think you're doing anything wrong...CAT
Norton is not a bad program. I use it and love it.

Sometimes my husbands does not scan on his laptop and this tends to work.
By the way what operating system are you running? XP, Vista?
It's Nortan. You should remove it an install a free and better alternative... AVG is good. =]
It does take a while, but you might have an additional drive or 2 to scan. ( If you add HDDs or add network drives, you are scanning more than just your "C" drive, and it will take a while. Look to see if the program is still scrolling thru files ( you will see files names flashing as they are scanned ) and if not, it may be locked up. Most of my PC's take 1 to 2 hours to scan, and that is just internal drives, and when I scan my Network Storage drives, it adds over 6 hours ( slower over 100Mb/sec Lan ) and scan times are directly related to how much data to scan ( more data Gb, then more time ).
