How do I scan or fax something that's too long!?

I have an application for an apartment to send to my friend/future roommate who is currently in Pennsylvania (I'm in Texas. hehe). The problem is, the application is like 1.5 times the size of a regular piece of paper... I have a scanner, and I guess I could take it to kinko's to get it faxed, but is it possible to fax in one piece?!

Answers:
its possible with a loader fax-printer.

if you only have a scanner then kinkos it is for you

dont listen to half your comments - do not cut a legal document. why would you want to shrink the document, upload to computer then shrink other half then try to merge the 2 then fax, that is retarded. spend the buck at kinkos
Scan the top and bottom parts as separate documents and send 2 pages.

Or save the 2 pages and then put them together using a photo editing program.
This is my idea...scan it to a computer..and shrink it. Other ideas are cutting it in half so that it is .75 times as big on each side so that you can send it in two equal parts. Folding it is another possibility. Sending it in 2 parts is all I can think of or the computer shrink.

Good luck.
You can shrink it, try scanning the application then reduce the size of it .
yes, some printers/fax have a special feature that let you scan long pieces of paper, it's located on the top of the scanner. you should go to Kinko's and Im sure they will have that equipment.
shrink the size (font size)of the document to "make fit" to the size you like
Yeah, it should be fine...if its longer, it doesnt matter at all...

Scan it at Kinko's and get it resized. They should do it for you.
If you go to a copy machine, you can reduce the size of it .. try 75% to start. The it will fit on a normal 8 x 11 size.
Good luck !
You answered your own question. You either cut it in half or you scan the top half, then the bottom half. If you fax it, it will come out on the other end as two pages.
if it is a flatbed scanner you can cpoy the top then bottom, on a regular scanner it will scan the full lenght.
The best thing to do in my opinion is to go to a copy machine and make copies of the original document in sections. For example, scan the top half of the document, then the bottom half, and label each as page 1, 2, 3..etc.

If you want to get technical or know someone who has Photoshop or some type of photo editing program, I would scan the document in sections like top half, bottom half, etc and then in photoshop, put all the pieces together as one. That's a trick of the trade that I would use when scanning a huge document on a 8x11 scanner.
you might have a legal sized paper. most faxes and scanners are defaulted to letter (8 1/2 by 11) size. if you want to fax it, the receiver has to have legal sized paper in the fax machine.
